LAHORE: The Young Doctors Association (YDA) started their sit-in almost three days back when the members of the association took to road for the sake of their demands, a local news channel reported.
The young doctors demanded that security arrangements within Mayo Hospital should be improved and security should also be provided to them.
However, despite the sit-in entering the third day, their demands have fallen on deaf ears as the provincial government is apparently in no mood to take any substantial step to meet their demands.
On the contrary, 15 doctors and 30 nurses have been dismissed from their posts. In addition, the government vows to take more strenuous efforts in this regard as well. According to the latest reports, the YDA’s sit-inirked the citizens owing to the road blockages.
Meanwhile, the sit-in has also been joined by the Punjab Water Management’s contract employees who joined the YDA’s sit-in demanding permanent employment.
