ISLAMABAD: Public Accounts Committee (PAC) Chairman Syed Khurshid Shah, who is also the opposition leader in the National Assembly, has directed the National Highway Authority (NHA) chairman to construct the Karachi-Hyderabad Motorway as per the universal standard.
He gave these directions to the NHA chairman in a letter written to him and also pointed out its substandard construction and urged to find out its solution. Khursheed said that people of Karachi and Hyderabad are facing lot of problems during the construction of motorway and numbers of traffic accidents have been occurred.
“The September 7 traffic incident which claimed dozens of life was only due to substandard construction of motorway”, he added and maintained that I have also made personal conversation and now I am also drawing attention towards the losses caused by this road in writing so that measures could be initiated to protect the lives of masses.
He further said that FWO is constructing this motorway and this project is being constructed under BOT.
