ISLAMABAD: Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Governor Iqbal Zafar Jhagra has said that extremism and terrorism would be eliminated at every cost from the country for attaining sustainable peace, progress and prosperity.
Speaking here at a fundraiser organised by “Dil Jan Foundation” to help needy, he stressed the need for extending maximum facilities to the victims of terrorism so that they could lead a routine life, saying “they are part of our society.” He said the government would ensure restoration of peace in all parts of the country besides upholding the principle of justice, merit and fairly in the society.
He said social and welfare activities should be further promoted for assisting downtrodden segments of the society. He urged philanthropists to come forward and play their active role in serving the suffering humanity. The governor said the government was committed and making all-out efforts to resolve all issues being faced by the general public on priority.
Former Pakhtunkhwa Governor Sardar Mehtab Abbasi, parliamentarians Mehmood Khan Achakzai and Saleem Saif Ullah, Rector Fast University Ameer Muhammad Khan also spoke on the occasion and appreciated the foundation for its welfare activities. The governor donated Rs 1.5 million, while Mehmood Achakzai and Sarardar Mehtab Abbasi donated Rs 100,000 each to the fund.
